What this artifact is
Fire is a C64 graphics demonstration from the official cc65 sample collection. The upstream sample catalog describes it as a graphics demo written by groepaz. C64 Vault presents the exact deterministic C64 build with source and license evidence, rather than using a third-party playable catalog as authority.
The pinned source contains the C program, the sample Makefile, and the surrounding cc65 project history at one immutable commit. C64 Vault rebuilt the target twice in clean directories with the pinned cc65 toolchain. Both outputs matched one another and the served 4,217-byte PRG exactly. That relationship matters: the public bytes are directly explained by an archived recipe and source revision, while the zlib license text remains adjacent to the artifact.
Why it is admitted
C64 Vault admits an artifact only when the source, redistribution basis, integrity, runtime compatibility, publication quality, and withdrawal path can be bound to one exact record. For Fire, the source owner is recorded as cc65 project; the immutable source revision is e11fb5c39371046ebe25485f984f644c5a0d65d3. The retained license is Zlib. The artifact scan and format check passed for the exact digest shown below.
Admission does not mean that every similarly named file is approved, and it is not a promise that all browser, hardware, or input combinations will behave identically. It means the evidence gates passed for this revision and these bytes. A later contradiction, rights challenge, hash mismatch, or runtime regression can move the record out of the public catalog through the documented withdrawal process.
How to use it
Select Fire in the Open Library and use Verify & open. The browser first checks the downloaded file against its 4,217-byte size and published SHA-256 value. Start the local runtime only after the verification message appears. The visual effect runs automatically, so there is no separate score or content account. Pause, reset, theater mode, and fullscreen are workbench controls around the unchanged program bytes.
The isolated emulator surface remains advertising-free. This article is a separate information route. Google-controlled advertising may or may not be delivered here after consent and site approval; no advertisement is inserted inside or over the workbench.
